They founded SUPERBE, a brand of panties.

On Saturday, June 2nd, for our second event at the Scrunchie Room, we invited Superbe Paris . We spotted this brand on Instagram a few months ago and it caught our eye: energetic and offbeat communication but above all, wow panties (velvet, glitter, sequins...). We wanted to know more about the entrepreneurs behind it.

Can you present the concept of Superbe Paris in a few words?

Superb is the ambition to offer today's women panties that correspond to their needs and desires. Comfortable and sexy underwear .
We started with 3 collections, which focus on representing the moments in women's lives: love, everyday life, celebration. We give each pair of panties a universe, because we want to show the diversity of women
, their eccentricity , their beauty and their madness, but above all their real life.
So we shoot panties worn by real girls, in the street, in the bedroom, in living and party places , that we frequent ourselves.
 

Why did you decide to get into panties?

Because after 100 years of existence (yes, 100 years that panties have existed), we had to reinvent them! We looked in the mirror and asked ourselves how we would like our underwear. We didn't find what we were looking for on the market, so we took the plunge . Fashion, femininity, graphics, photography are subjects that have always fascinated us, we simply found a way to bring all of this together and make it a real professional project .
 

Who is behind superbe? How did you meet? What is each of your background? What made you decide to launch your own business? A trigger?

Superb is Mélanie Daries , the founder/creator, who is partnering with Sonia Taboubi-Béji and Margaux Schmit. We all have a somewhat common background in communications.
Basically, Margaux is a freelance art director, Sonia is an agency account manager , and Mélanie is a web project manager. I say basically because today we share all the tasks involved in creating and developing a company.

The basis of the project is Mélanie who embarks on this crazy adventure with almost no knowledge of the world of fashion or entrepreneurship , but full of ideas, an insatiable appetite and undoubtedly a little recklessness. After a few years in communications, she is going around in circles in her agency and she knows that the only thing that will make her vibrate is to be able to get her ideas out of her head to realize them, and to create with her own hands. She then surrounds herself with people (talented!) who will allow her to realize her project before bringing her two acolytes together around Superbe.

In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges you face in your daily life? What helps you overcome them?

Every day is a new challenge! Launching your brand requires having good knowledge in quite a few areas, knowledge that you acquire on the fly! Production, marketing, communication, accounting, legislation, press relations, sales ... Obviously you can't know everything... Overall, therefore, each day brings its new batch of unknowns , problems to solve, solutions to find. You absolutely must know how to surround yourself and admit that you can't do everything alone . Knowing how to surround yourself well is one of the keys to success.
 

You recently launched a crowdfunding campaign. Why did you choose this method of financing? What are the keys to success that you can share with us for those who might one day want to get started?

Crowdfunding today is a fantastic springboard . If you succeed with a campaign like this, it's an extremely positive signal for the market, for your consumers, for your future investors... We started because we needed funding to release our collection of swimsuits and bodysuits , and we managed to exceed our goal. We pre-sold our models, and at the same time we tested the market.
The key to success is to spend a lot of time on the campaign I think! It 's a bit like a marathon , good preparation beforehand, and endurance during. Before going online, there are a lot of things to prepare so that everything is clear during. Your objectives, your visuals, your presentation, your explanations, your video, the rewards you are going to offer... Everything must be well worked out , otherwise you will lose your audience and you will not attract anyone. You must also know that your first circles (family and friends) have a key role to play , by investing in your project and sharing around them, you must solicit them before even launching the campaign. Ours lasted 30 days , and we sequenced the messages, multiplied the channels , we did not spare the phone, you must not hesitate to talk about the project , from morning to night. It also allows us to raise awareness of our brand , beyond the campaign. We unite around the urgency of funding (beyond 30 days if we didn't reach the goal, we would lose everything), but in the end it's Superbe who gains notoriety.
