A BRIEF HISTORY OF FRINGES
Bangs have been worn in different ways over the years: straight in 1920, mid-forehead in 1930, long and rolled in 1950.
Curtain bangs were popularized in the 1970s. Brigitte Bardot probably had something to do with it with her pretty, rounded blonde bangs!
Today, curtain bangs have become the trademark of certain girls like Alexa Chung or Mathilda Jerf... Normal! When it's done well, curtain bangs bring a retro-cool style that won't leave you indifferent!
WHO IS THE CURTAIN FRINGE FOR?
Curtain bangs are lucky enough to suit all face shapes (round, long, thin, etc.) but unfortunately not all hair textures!
Curtain bangs are not recommended for hair that is too curly because they will not have the desired effect (difficult to maintain and straightening is not recommended for bangs).
Also note that the curtain fringe goes hand in hand with the middle parting, it is drawn in continuity.
HOW DO WE ACCESSORIZE IT?
The curtain fringe accessorizes very well with our favorites ! Tie your hair up in a high, unstructured ponytail, leaving your bangs visible at the top of your face. Don't hesitate to add earrings. This dresses up your look and adds style:
Here are some examples:
Curtain bangs can also be worn with our favorites put in a bun (or half-bun) like here:
Curtain bangs also lend themselves very well to our headbands inspired by Brigitte Bardot! We're bringing out the bangs on the headband. It's the perfect accessory for days when your hair is a little greasy :)
Finally, here's proof that curtain bangs look great on curly hair! Accessorize with a foulchie or a pet :
HOW DO WE CUT IT?
2 options: cut it yourself or go to a hairdresser.
If you choose option 1, equip yourself with a comb and serrated shears. Cut your hair dry to see the fallout directly (this avoids cutting it too short) and work your way diagonally, following the shape of your face. Serrated shears allow you to go little by little and avoid disasters.
If you're scared, rush to the hairdresser with a picture of Alexa Chung, insisting that you don't want it too short.
Growing out curtain bangs is much less of a hassle than straight bangs (which is also why we love them so much). The layered shape allows for less frequent hair appointments.
It is trimmed lightly every three weeks, either yourself with serrated shears or at a hairdresser.
HOW DO WE MAINTAIN IT?
Dry shampoo is our best friend! Because bangs mean greasy hair faster...
To style your bangs, you can dry them with a round brush and a hairdryer. Make sure they are slightly rounded to avoid them being in too much contact with your forehead.
Avoid using straightening irons to avoid the baguette fringe effect, which doesn't look natural at all.
Our favorite hairstyle with curtain bangs is a high ponytail or half-up ponytail with a scrunchie or hair tie in your hair. We love the retro-cool look!

So, are you going to fall for curtain bangs? ;)
