At Scrunchie Is Back , we love long hair. So much so that we have a bit (or a lot) of a hairdresser phobia... So naturally, we're impressed by the girls who dare to take the plunge with short hair! And you, are you brave or hiding under the bathroom sink?
We interviewed Swann (from the blog swannandtheberries ), a beautiful brunette with short hair. She tells us about the benefits of short haircuts and reveals her secrets...
INTERVIEW WITH SWANN, A SHORT-HAIRED SCRUNCHIE GIRL
- Have you ever had short hair? Or have you always worn it long?
I think I've had hair of all lengths! When I was little, I wore it down to my butt! But every time I change my haircut, it's radical.
Two years ago, I had long, platinum blonde hair. I went to my hairdresser and asked for a super-short pixie cut. Right now, it's a struggle: I'm letting it grow into a little bowl cut, so I'm being patient.
- How to convince a girl with long hair to dare to go for a short haircut?
So for someone who has gone from super long to super short several times, I can say that it's a significant time saver! Especially in the morning, I no longer have to style, curl, straighten them every day ( more time to sleep then! ).
But what I like the most is the transformation aspect, I sincerely think that a girl with long hair who goes for a short cut sees her self-confidence boosted! Suddenly everything is new, we learn to do our makeup again because the face is more revealed, each outfit seems new too. It's a total physical and mental transformation!
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of short hair?
The advantages:
- Less preparation in the morning,
- Fewer products used,
- It's great in summer, (it's cooler!)
- It boosts self-confidence,
- It's modern,
- Rejuvenates the face,
- We have more fun with colors and bleaching because the hair grows back quickly.
The disadvantages:
- No more visits to the hairdresser to keep a fresh cut,
- If you want to grow out your boyish cut, the regrowth goes through a lot of strange stages [laughs].
- Any ideas for simple hairstyles with this length?
Yes! I love hairstyles. I can't be embarrassed about them anymore with my current length, but that doesn't stop me from having fun anyway.
I think a half bun is always very cute, but you can also make something cute by twisting a few strands back and tying with a scrunchie .
- Your favorite Scrunchie accessories are back?
Berets ! I'm a big fan of berets ( I own about twenty ) and I can't resist that little bow in the back!
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how does your haircut represent your style and personality?
Easily 8. My hair has gone through all lengths, colors... but I know very well that short hair suits me best and suits me most. That doesn't stop me from wanting to change it from time to time because I know I'll always come back to my short haircut :)
- Have you ever had a hair faux pas?
Unintentionally! One day a hairdresser gave me a horrible purple with electric blue highlights...I had asked for lilac.
- Do you have a hair routine? Could you describe it to us?
My hair is no longer bleached, but I take care of it as much as possible. I use paraben-free products with the gentlest, most natural ingredients for my hair.
I never dry them with a towel but rather with a soft cotton t-shirt so as not to damage them ( hair is always more fragile when it is wet ), the same goes for the hair dryer, I try to pay attention to the temperature and I always use a heat protectant on it before styling it.

Swann is far from the only one with short hair. Many stars have already taken the plunge, whether by choice or for movie hairstyles.
The very first one we can mention is Kristen Stewart. Long, mid-length, short-mid-short.
